"This simple
cabin provides everything a man needs to sustain
a rewarding life. The stream is pristine; I
can drink its pure waters. It teems with fish;
my boat lets me pursue the mountain trout when
I choose. The woods abound with game. My cozy
Adirondack chair invites me to relax and savor
the refreshing mountain breeze.
I've
stacked firewood for the campfire that will warm
the chill evening air. Above all, I am surrounded
by beauty that feeds my spirit with endless reminders
of God's grace."

Cobblestone
Mill
"Cobblestone
Mill is a symbol of the natural abundance. The
mill wheel will turn for as long as the stream
that powers it will flow, grinding the flour
that sustains a simple, satisfying village life.
The mill stands alone, yet it is enlivened by
a dazzling play of light and shade that falls
on it from the flowering woods that embrace
its soilitude.
Its
dignity is enhanced by the dance of colour that
so delights the eye. Beauty - and all else that
is good - is a gift of light, bestowed by the sun,
which also grows the grain that will be ground in
this millstone. Cobblestone Mill reminds us that
all blessings flow timelessly from the hand of God."

Hometown
Christmas
"I find that the places
where I feel most comfortable share a sense
of neighborhood, the familiarity of long-lived-in
buildings, streets and gathering places where
people come together in good fellowship, and,
above all, brightly lit homes warmed by the
light of love.
I've
chosen to by portray a hometown that I hope reminds
you of your own during that pre-emitent celebration
of home and family-the Christmas season."

Hometown
Pride
Thomas Kinkade writes:
" In Hometown Pride, I'm trying to evoke the very essence of the American
heartland-the peace, the precious freedoms that continue to be our birthright.
I hope to convey the simplicity and serenity of life in everyday neighbourhoods
across America.
For
this reason I have created a separate edition for
many of America's hometown communities, around 350
in all, and send it, with love, to each. Perhaps
you will sit, if only in imagination, upon the expansive
porch at the right of the composition and listen
to the sound of children at play and crickets beginning
their twilight chorus."

Pathway
to Paradise
"Pathway
to Paradise, which follows my Stairway to
Paradise, continues on a spiritual and artistic
journey toward a vision of the sublime. As
we stride up the crumbling stone steps we
find ourselves wandering a pathway that winds
through simple wonders of nature - lavish,
rainbow-hued blossoms - that affirm the promise
of God's love.
I like
to think of myself as a fellow discoverer
on the Pathway to Paradise - one of the fortunate
few who have been granted a vision of peaceful
perfection. I invite you to travel this glorious
road with me."

Village
Lighthouse
"The Village Lighthouse
portrays one such discovery I made on a seaside
stroll in England. The town mirrors the shore
in many ways; the stalwart cottages are built
of the same granite that rises in cliffs from
the sea. The ancient public house in the village
offers shelter, as does the lighthouse that
stands so proudly on the distant headland.
A
radiant glow of sunlight bathes the village,
touching the
magnificient flowering dogwood and lavish stands
of foxgloves and impatiens with light, just as it
illuminates the waves that dance over the face of
the ocean."

Desert
Sunset
"Desert Sunset is the
first studio work of a desert vista I have ever
painted for publication. At this stage in my
career, new subjects or new styles are cause
for celebration? The special challenge in painting
the arid landscape of the desert is the luminous
quality of light, the radiance of colour shimmering
through the clear air. Looking over the vastness
of the desert at sunset I was constantly struck
by how the twinkling of the distant lights looked
like a glittering necklace of diamonds and pearls
upon a velvet cloth.
I've
long admired the vast vistas, intense silences and
almost spiritual solitude of the desert. I'm not
sure why it's taken me so long to celebrate those
qualities on canvas; I hope to return to them soon."

Lilac
Cottage
"Lilac Cottage, the 4th
issue in the Flower Cottages of Carmel collection
is inspired by a real cottage I discovered amidst
an overgrown garden in Carmel, but more than that,
it is my attempt to evoke the heady perfume of
lilacs.
Lilacs remind me of my love; Nanette has always favoured their delicate
fragrance. When I painted Lilac Cottage, I searched for what I can only
call the look of lilac, and found my answer in the shimmering morning mist
that seems unique to California. A shroud of radiant light swathes this
garden, wrapping it in a blanket of tranquility."

Cape
Hatteras Light
"Cape Hatteras Light
glories in the majestic light of sunset - when
God writes his message of love in the sky. the
elegant simplicity of the soaring black and white
tower rises dramatically 225 ft. into the turbulent
evening sky. Soon this glorious glow in the heavens
will fade, and the lighthouse will send its searching
finger of light far out into the Atlantic. Cape
Hatteras Light tower has guided ships since 1870.
Cape Hatteras Light celebrates the generosity
of God's bounty, and the serene strength of His
loving guidance, symbolized by this historic lighthouse."

The
Light of Freedom
In times of great crises,
when our core beliefs are challenged by a vile
and faceless foe, and our hearts are burdened
by tragedy that seems too great to bear, it
is incumbent on each of us to proclaim our pride
and our faith in the most emphatic terms.
I secluced myself in my studio for days following the attack, working around
the clock with a fervor I have never before felt, and emerged, exhausted, with
The Light of Freedom.
In my painting
the three most definitive symbols of our national
freedom - the proud golden eagle, the glorious banner
of stars and stripes, and the majestic Stutue of
Liberty are linked together before a proudly lit
New York City skyline. The Billowy clouds in the
heavens remind us that despite our challenges, God
surely has shed His graces on this land.
